It’s way more work than I expected. Getting ready. Ordering. Packaging. Packing. Setup. Take down. I need to learn how to streamline the process, especially the amount of stuff I take and the number of boxes.
I’m so lucky and thankful to have a great husband, who’s content to do most of the loading, unloading and lifting. And stay and support me and bring me things.
I have great friends. We had a few friends show up and support my artwork, which was so nice. And especially our wonderful friends who stayed till the end to help us pack up. That was a godsend after working 8 hours in the heat.
OMG the wind! It wasn’t even that windy, but things were constantly being blown over. We had three sides on our tent, and I was very mindful of them not blowing into our neighbors.
I need a better way to price. I used cute little marker blackboards to write the prices of things on, but between them constantly being blown over, and many people asking the price of things, it clearly wasn’t the best idea. I’m not sure why people didn’t notice my 4”x6” price signs right next to the card rack and the sticker display
Cash is still used. A lot. I’ve barely used cash since 2019, and I was surprised to see how many people pay with cash. Almost half of my sales were cash.
I had no clear category winner. I expected the stickers, or perhaps the journals, to sell more than other products, but they didn’t. I can’t say from this market what product was a top seller.
My Rainbow Hairy Coo was the most popular piece of artwork. Followed closely by I’m Not Garbage kitty.
I need a more comfortable chair. ‘Nuff said.
